Film Archives 2007-2012

In this section you can browse through some older work taken on my Bronica Medium Format camera and on a Nikon FM2.  Although I no longer have easy access to the facilities, I still love to process my own film and I do miss the quiet cocoon of the colour darkroom.

India, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

This was my first trip to india as an assistant Expedition Leader in 2010.  I was completely won over by the culture and the landscapes, leading to my return in 2016 as an Expedition Leader.  I still feel I have so much more left to learn and experience, particularly in the southern states.

Thailand and Laos

Below are a few images from my first expedition as an assistant leader to Thailand and Laos in 2009.  We spent one month with a group of young people traveling, trekking and staying within small communities.  This was a huge learning experience for me and set me on the path towards becoming an expedition leader.  I insisted on lugging around my Bronica for this expedition and although I still love that camera, I am now much lighter with my Fuji X-T1.

In 2008, as part of my studies I was lucky enough to take part in the wonderful Erasmus scheme, spending 3 months creating work in Norway.  With hopes of experiencing the Aurora Borealis I travelled to the Lofoten Islands in the Arctic Circle, staying in a Rorbu and using a kick-sled to explore the surrounding area.

My time spent in the USA in 2006 and 2007 took me through several states including Missouri, Michigan, Denver, Nevada and California. I had my first experiences as an outdoor instructor during these summer months and visiting Yosemite resulted in my BA Thesis exploring the construction of Wilderness.
